A z-brace is another brace type that contains two bends. However, unlike the U-shaped bracket, the two bends of the U-shaped bracket are carried out on the same side of the sheet metal. The Z-shaped bracket bends one flange inward and the other flange outward to form a Z-shaped contour.

Z-brackets can be used to mount parallel surfaces that are offset from each other.

The support can be made of a variety of metals, depending on certain factors, including the load it must support, appearance requirements, surface treatment requirements, minimum and maximum thickness, required bending angle, and manufacturing budget.
